100 In A 60 - Please Help!!

Unread post by danniemc »

My boyfriend was driving my car (I know-not the smartest idea!) and he was speeding to his soccer game.

He got pulled over in Toronto for doing 100 in a 60.

He's applying for Peel Police in January and this ticket isn't going to look very good on him.

He's a G2 driver and this is his first ticket.

Any advice on how he can fight this? Or pay a fine without any point?

Any help is welcomed!

Thanks!

The answers to your questions are all over this forum in other threads.

I would point out though that a speeding ticket for someone applying to policing is not a big deal. Especially if he can say that he just made a mistake and it's not a pattern of behaviour. Police departments don't expect (and don't get) perfect candidates.

NOTHING I SAY ON HERE IS LEGAL ADVICE.

I think the police recruiter would like to see that the applicant paid the full amount and "learned" from the incident.

If you choose to fight it, we can help. Given the situation, though, I am not sure that is a wise course of action.
