Re: License Plate Colours

I see a lot of Portuguese / Italian kids in my neighbourhood who have EU style license plates in their front or back windshields for decorative purposes. Given the amount I see and the kind of cars they are in, i.e. a Honda Civic with an oversized muffler, usually attempting to drive pretty fast, I ...

Re: Improper left turn with Failing to provide Motor owner T

I had something similar recently. I got my first, and so far only, tickets a year ago. I was exiting a parking lot and missed a sign prohibiting continuing straigh on into the residential street and mandating you turn left back to the main road. So I went straight on and there was a cop waiting. How...

Re: Failing to Stop.. early resolution meet coming - what to

what was the lesser ticket? Was it still an HTA ticket that affects insurance or was it a bylaw one for the sign? Just wondering as I have a disobey sign ticket pending as well. Thanks.

Re: Stunt driving 150 in a 100.. unmarked tailgated me. help

The only part that seems unfair to me is that they waited until she hit 150 before pulling her over and charging her. Surely she is already breaking the law at 120 so pull her over if she is speeding or acting in a suspicious manner (like you suspect intoxication). Why not pull her over at 130, 140,...

Re: New options on back of tickets

in Toronto do you have to specifically request a first attendance with the prosecutor? When I received my court date there was no mention of it. I have already faxed the prosectuor for disclosure but I would like a first attendance to see if I can get an early resolution. Do I just fax the prosecuto...

Re: no full stop got dropped to fail to provide insurance ca

A question. How do you avoid the trial if you have to go to the trial to see if the officer shows up? Do you mean just plead guilty if he shows up?

Re: Disobey Sign & Insurance Card

ok thanks for the info. I have faxed in a request for disclosure, used the template on Ticket Combat (thanks) with no mention of bylaws. The sign was a direction restriction, forcing a left turn to control traffic from a parking lot exist. I don't believe that is a specific HTA sign as you say, espe...

Re: Disobey Sign & Insurance Card

I found the following link on the Toronto City website, searching under bylaws: http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/bylaws/2011/Schedule-24.pdf Where it states: Highway Being Entered: Jackman Avenue Highway from which Vehicle Enters: The private driveway approximately 70 metres north of Danforth Avenue Hi...

Re: Disobey Sign & Insurance Card

To update. I received my notice of trial today. The trial date is set for mid November 2012. The original offence was late November 2011. So not quite a year but only a week or so short. My first question would be is this long enough to consider an 11(b) motion? My plan now is to request full disclo...

Re: failure to surrender insurance card

I have no problems with them issuing a ticket as you say, how do they know you are telling the truth if you say you forgot to put the new one in your car, but for someone with a clean record it would be nice for a warning, logged somewhere so it is a one time thing, or like they did when I lived in ...

Re: failure to surrender insurance card

At least all you got was a warning. I forgot to put my new card in the car, only 2 weeks after renewal, and got a $65 ticket for it. No warning etc. Really annoying when all he information on the card is still correct, same name, policy# etc. just a date. To be honest it is the first time I have ren...

Disobey Sign & Insurance Card

Hi, Looking for some guidance here. This was the first time I have been stopped by the police and ticketed etc. so not too familiar with the process. I was exiting a parking lot in the east end at Jackman Avenue and Hurndale just north of the Danforth near Chester subway station. It is a weird inter...
