Re: Zero Tolerance for 1st 5 years of driving...

as I've said before about this deal

how much effort and money would Mr. Mulcahy have put forth towards this Bill if his dumb kid had lived, but was charged with 2 counts of DUI causing death???

I'll give ya the answer.....SFA is what he'd have put forth

nope....the SalesSuperstar woulda funded the most incredible legal team that money could buy ...

Re: Ontario may ban cell phones while driving, your thoughts?

agree with it in principle....but I have no faith that the clowns at Queens Park will get it right

pretty sure that there are a slew of current HTA charges that could be laid while someone is driving like a tard with a cell.....no need to waste time/money on more new laws

and if someone gets dinged for making a short call while stopped in a ...

Re: Nitrous and its implications

You don't know how bad I'd like to hook these guys up to a lie detector test and ask if they've EVER hit that button on a public street, hehehe.

true

to be honest.....before 172 made an operational NOS system illegal....I didn't know it wasn't

I thought for sure that it was already illegal

pretty sure if MTO pulled you over leaving the track ...

Re: Nitrous and its implications

Personally, I think the whole idea of making nitrous illegal is a joke. I think a few stuffy legislators watched the Fast & the Furious one too many times.

Nitrous is just the poor-mans way of pulling more horsepower out of an engine. The same results can be gained by supercharging, turbo-charging, or by making major upgrades to the engine ...

Re: Nitrous and its implications

that NOS stipulation in 172 is pretty straight-forward.....and I'm quite surprised that a cop would misinterpret it

for the system to be legal on the street, it can't be operational

but it is not illegal to simply have the system installed, as it's legal to run it at the track...not to mention on a show vehicle

so...to make the system ...

Re: Fire trucked Siezed under 172

as it should have been dealt internally with this FireFighter.....pretty simple IMO.....copper clocks him, rings up the Fire Chief, allows the return of the vehicle to the Fire Dept and let's the driver deal with his penalty

In this instance I agree. However, what is the charge???????????

take your pick

Careless Driving plus a nice big ...

Re: Fire trucked Siezed under 172

Emergency vehicles are exempt under the regulations.

Wish that were true! We have 2 of our officers charged with this offence while in cruisers, only reason the vehicle was not towed....well actually they were towed....on a flatbed!

that's inaccurate

1 officer was charged after his cruiser crashed into 2 horses, killing the horses, totalling ...
