Regarding this 'law'. The reason they can impound a car is because the car becomes the property of the Ministry the minute you register it. Anything that is registered belongs to the Crown I believe. (REGIS meaning King/Crown)

Is it the real owner or the legal owner that is required to get insurance on the car? and which section of the HTA staes this please ? Thank you

Just a question in relation to the answer regarding suspension. Out of interest if a licence expires while suspended wouldn't that make the suspension erroneous in that the licence is no longer valid but dead (expired) ?
