Ticket for parking on a Fire Route but there was no sign...

There were no more spaces in my apartment parking lot, so I parked along a curb. The curb on which I parked did not have a No parking: Fire Route sign, there was a roadway in front of my car that did however have signs. I was not in the roadway and the curb I was on did not have a sign at all. So the signs were 10ish m away from my car.

Now I have a ticket that I dont think I deserve, and there were no "No Parking" signs.

Heres an attempt at a pic so you know what I mean...

Ignore the dots, the s's are the signs, the @ is my car, the ||||||'s are mediums.

Is there a fire hydrant on that side of the curb?

Unless Kitchener has one of those obscure by-laws designating certain areas as fire routes (not likely)... there wasn't by any chance a fire station on the road, was there?

Kitchener has a parking restriction of 3 hours for any street within the city limits. It is odd because you are nowhere informed about it, but here is the website stating it
