Speeding Prov Park Over 40 Km/h

by: anarki on

Hi all;

A parked warden paced me in a provincial park and handed me a ticket for speeding in provincial park over 40 km/h. This ticket carries no demerit points. In the disclosure he says he clocked me going 72km/h, so now I'm not sure if this is a major or minor office. My understanding is that no matter how fast you go in Prov park, the charge is still "speeding prov park over 40km/h"

Attached are copies from the disclosure:

My strategy is to cross examine the park warden and ask questions about calibration of speedometers/odometer. Pretty good assumption that vehicles they use in park are not equipped with radars and don't undergo speedometer testing.

My questions are:

1. I did not ask for calibration records in my original disclosure. Should I request additional disclosure asking to provide such information ?

2. Do I have a good defense re: calibration of speedometer/ odometer

3. Is this a major or minor offence ?

4. Any other strategies to defend this case ?

Thank you
