Summons For Improper Use Of Accessible Parking Permit-urgent

Unread post by NaturalPerson »

Ive been summons to court to appear March 5th, 2015...in 3 days!

My knowledge of how the court system work is very basic.

I am considering pleading not guilty if I have to go to trial.

My father is the holder of the accessible parking permit. I was picking him up

I have some questions...

-How to I go about getting disclosure or is it to early? Does it happen after a trail date is established?

-Is it even possible to get disclosure this close to the order to appear date?

-Does the officer have to be in court on the day of the summons?

-Is there any way of striking a deal prior to a trail?

-What steps could you recommend?

Sorry for the late requests...I just found this forum! Great resource!!!

Thank you in advance. All your help is greatly appreciated.

My father is the holder of the accessible parking permit. I had it in my possession. We were attending the same wedding. He was to come separately. I was to drive him home at the end of the night.

My pops said it was ok for me to use the tag I was responsible to for his transportation at the end of the night.

I did display it in on the dash... moments later a ticketing officer stopped me before I got to far from the car. He asked to look at the pernit, i let him. explained it was my fathers and the situation. He didn't like my answers and took it form me. Now im here.

I have some questions...

Was I/my father in the wrong about its use? Couldn't find the resources to disprove the officer.

-I would wait until you know your trial date. You will be given your trial date at your hearing on the 5th, so you can submit your disclosure request while you are at the court house that day if you like.

-The officer doesn't have to be in court for your appearance on the 5th but he will have to attend your trial in order to testify.

-You might be able to strike a deal with the prosecutor prior to trial. Talk to the prosecutor at your hearing on Thursday and see if they are willing to offer you something.

-For now request disclosure, when it comes read it over and see if there are any holes in the prosecution's case.
