Wrong Intersection On Ticket...

by: Stealth on

I got a ticket for allegedly not stopping at a 4-way stop. The officer complimented me for signalling my left turn, but when she wrote the ticket, she put the name of a street that I was never on. The street that she named was at the corner where I was facing when I got pulled over.

Should I fight this on that basis?

You may have a chance, particularly if the road you were facing doesn't have a stop sign. After you've got your trial date, disclosure of the officer's notes would tell you more. Incorrect location on the ticket does not make the ticket null, but it can help you at trial, if it goes that far. If nothing else, at least requesting the trial gives you some options.

* The above is NOT legal advice. By acting on anything I have said, you assume responsibility for any outcome and consequences. *
